| 8. | Foreign (Non-Japanese) Passport holders prepare Guarantee Letter and copy of passport (or driver’s license) of a guarantor with his/her original signature. (A guarantor must be an adult who remains in Japan. An alien without the permission of permanent residence in Japan cannot be a guarantor.) |

| 9. | For Citizens of North Korea must prepare personal history and guarantee letter with photocopy of the guarantors passport or drivers license with original signature | |||||

Passport holders of Laos, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan must apply in person.
Passport holders of Pakistan, Bangladesh, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Sudan, Algeria, Libya, Yemen, Egypt, Afghanistan, Nigeria and Palestinian State are requested to file for application at the Thai Embassy / Consulate-General where they have their permanent residence . Applicants without permanent residents are required to apply for Thai visa in your own country. As the result of examination, we may ask you for a certificate of your no criminal record. As it often takes over one month to be issued, enough time shall be taken into consideration to apply for a visa.
Passport holders of North Korea are required additional documents as follow; 1) Personal History (download form here) 2) Guarantee letter (download form here) 3) Copy passport of guarantor
Please be noted that
Consular officers reserve the rights to ask for additional documents as deemed necessary.
* Passport holders from Middle East & South Asia and Africa may be requrired for interviews, please apply for visa with enough time for departure.
In the absence of a required document, a letter indicating the unavailability of such document must be provided.
The applicant must sign on each page of the copy.
